Four graduate students from the AKV St. Joost art academy in Breda will exhibit their work in a former swimming pool known as 'De Blikken'. All four artists are resistant to specific ways we're taught to act. They are not necessarily looking for answers through this exhibition, instead they want to encourage the public to ask questions.
An exhibition that has never been allowed to take place in connection with the Covid-19 virus.
Originally on May 29-30-31, 2020, I had curated the exhibition called 'Draaispiegel'. Four graduate students of the art academy AKV St. Joost in Breda would show their work in the former swimming pool De Blikken, which is managed by Stichting Bock. Together with the location, third parties and the artists themselves we had organized a weekend program and all organizational aspects were already arranged. For example, free tickets could be purchased via Eventbrite.nl and various lectures would be held on Saturday afternoons.
Nevertheless, I was able to gain the experience as a curator and I experienced this as a great opportunity to increase my knowledge at an organizational level and also in collaboration with other artists and organizations.
Are you or do you know someone who is still looking for a curator for a future exhibition? Feel free to contact me on this page.
